Daddy,
Where are you?
The monsters have returned to my closet
When I close my eyes
They come to devour me
And bed sheets are no longer safe enough
Wont you slay them and save me?
Daddy,
Whats wrong?
Your breath smells like the cats
When they cant wake up from their nap
There is nothing left in your eyes
Where there was love for me just this morning
Did I do something wrong?
Daddy,
Where am I?
The walls around me are moist
And crumble under my fingertips like fresh baked brownies
I cant find the light or my breath
And I think my body is crawling
Is this where mommy went when she was bad?

Comments
When they cant wake up from their nap
I love that simile. Brilliant.
